2.3.1. INTRODUCTION

Feedback is vital for learning/teaching improvement. A study by Tricomi and DePasque (2016) suggests that feedback provides valuable information that can provide guidance in the learning process. Constructive feedback can significantly contribute to a learner's learning success, increasing motivation and engagement level. However, in order for feedback to be effective, it has to be timely, personalized, and constructive (Hattie and Timperley, 2007). Here, VLE plays a key role in alleviating the process of feedback provision as it offers teachers with a number of useful tools to give feedback to their students. Using VLE tools for feedback provision can be quite advantageous as that may save time and make the overall process much more dynamic. In addition, combining assessment and feedback in accordance with assessment criteria can help to make the whole assessment process much more transparent. Thus, implementation of VLE solutions for feedback provision should be taken into consideration, especially while designing blended and online learning/teaching.
