1.1.3. WHY SHOULD I DESIGN ASSESSMENT STRATEGY BASED ON LEARNING OUTCOMES IN VLE?

  • Pedagogical point-of -view: 
      • Increases transparency in assessment as it allows assessing specific skills rather than content knowledge (Hadjianastasis, 2017). 
      • Assists with self-regulated learning, as it helps students with planning and progress measurement. 
      • Allows identification of skills, knowledge, and mindsets, which the learner should acquire through the learning process.

  • Technical point-of-view: 
      • VLE facilitates assessment procedures and increases transparency as it offers a number of interactive opportunities to indicate and relate learning outcomes to certain learning segments. 
      • VLE facilitates feedback provision aligned with learning outcomes
      • VLE offers numerous technical solutions as well as tools for designing tasks and activities to achieve the intended learning outcomes.
