2.1.3. Why should we design peer assessment activities in VLE?

From the pedagogical point-of -view, it:

      • Enables an in-depth understanding of the proposed learning activities; 
      • Allows for more comprehensive self-awareness and monitoring of the students’ own learning;
      •  Increases transparency in assessment, given that it is not teacher-centered; 
      • Enhances the students’ engagement.

From the technological point-of-view, it:

      • May be more agile because of the technical solutions offered to design assessment criteria and indicators; 
      • Favors the assessment of the learning process; thus, allowing for just-in-time feedback from the teacher; 
      • Facilitates feedback provision anytime and anywhere.
