3.2.8. PRACTICAL ACTIVITY

  1. TMO1
  2. 3.2.8. PRACTICAL ACTIVITY

When engaging in peer feedback activities, there may be students who can become careless and not mark assignments adequately. In this situation, using different grading strategies, co-creating assessment rubrics and introducing engaging activities can help motivate students.

  • Think of a specific assignment in which you can incorporate peer review (in addition to written assignments you can consider using other media, e.g. student-produced videos or other outputs; you can also consider group projects, so students can share and support each other through the review process);
  • Reflect on how this activity, and more specifically peer review, correlates with your course’s learning outcomes.
  • Decide if (and how) peer review will affect students’ assessment and select the most appropriate grading strategy (i.e., accumulative grading, comments, number of errors and rubrics).
