4. Assessment for Learning at the Center of Learning Design – Assessment Tasks as Learning Tasks
4.3. Assessment tasks as learning tasks
Assessment tasks are not learning and teaching units, but they usually indicate what kind of learning should occur before students perform the assigned assessment tasks. Teachers make professional decisions about whether or not a certain task is appropriate for their students.
Each assessment task has the following information:
- Its importance
for a country curriculum;
- Pre-requisite training is required;
- Several
scaffolding activities are used to determine the circumstances in which the
task can be performed;
- Resources to help students and teachers to accomplish their tasks;
- Assessment
Bases for teachers' and students;
- Examples
of workplace annotations;
- Offered further training.
