3. How Connected Learning Developing
Connected
learning is characterized by enormous link between digital and social media
available online and today's culture of the connectedness. It is based on
research that has shown that students achieve higher levels of learning
outcomes when their work focuses on topics that are personally relevant to them.
Connected learning also creates learning environment that allows students to
learn together (and with experts) by communicating, sharing and giving
feedback. In order to successfully participate in the academic environment, connected
learning strives to provide opportunities that are linked to academic subjects
also personally interesting and mutually supportive by peers. Promoters argue
that traditional patterns or learning and activities in the educational
institution may be too limited and may not be valid at the age of lifelong
learning.
Connected
learning is production-oriented, taking into account the variety of activities
and interests that can be achieved through technology, peer-to-peer network of
experts in the connected environment, and allowing students to design, develop,
experiment, and design. Through this learning model and focusing on production,
students and young people can acquire the skills and knowledge associated with
their formal learning, and this will be meaningful in the future work and
social life.
